These rails are designed as a stylish slimline mounting solution. These side rails can be mounted directly to most rooftop tents or roof racks without the need for our cross bars. Sitting approx 25mm off the roof, these rails allow you to run your rooftop tent or roof rack super low profile. This will pair well with our cross-over bars, allowing you to turn these rails into a full roof rack.
All products are mild steel, zinc-plated and then powder-coated satin black for a strong, durable finish that will withstand harsh Aussie conditions.
Rubber edging and hardware are provided. All hardware is 304 Stainless Steel. Bracket bolts are powder-coated satin black.
Weight: X2 rails16kg, Wing 7kg.
*This is the side rails only, rear wings and cross bars are also sold separately*
Passenger side rails have holes pre-drilled with nuts on the back in three positions for bolting our awning brackets directly to the side with ease.
FITTING:
The spacing between the top of the rails is roughly 1130mm at the front and 1120mm at the rear.
Some rooftop tents will require bolting through the external frame or through the tent floor. The rails come with pre-drilled holes to fit Ocam Roof racks. While other roof racks may be compatible, they have not been tested. Further fitting instructions are provided after purchase, bolts provided are 20mm long and designed for roofracks and thin base tents, some tents will require longer bolts and big washers for inside the tent.
If you're unsure if they will fit to your tent, please reach out to us and we will help you.
Most tents are fitted without using the cross bars we also sell, the most common way is to mount through the floor or move the mounting rails on the tent to line up with our rails. Some of the newer 1.2X Hinge style tents from CSS and Outback Tourer can be mounted directly to our rails with no modifications needed to the tent.
